i am gonna stop drinking soda cuz my livers need to be flushed so i need to drink lots of water to flush out all the bad things in my livers

wrong, many americans are fat because they do not burn what they eat. I see alot of slim people and muscle dudes that eat junk food.

What about Ice water? I heard you can burn calories because the body needs to raise its temperature after drinking ice water.

Drinking water does help prevent water retention but I’m guessing that 10 pounds in 2 weeks was the result of activity and diet and a slight water loss. You also asked about building muscle and losing fat. I did a recent video on this. Check my main page. I believe I’m wearing a yellow t-shirt in the video.

I lost about 10 lbs in the first 2 weeks of cutting back just by drinking more water. after that it was a slower process. Steve is it possible to lose a few pounds of excess stored water weight by upping your water intake?

OK this needs to stop…. water does not directly burn fat sure…. but it allows your kidneys to function more efficiently.. which takes stress off your liver helping your kindneys function. Once this happens one of your livers prime concerns becomes metabolising fat. Yes Water helps lose weight without water…. all your exercising…. and dieting works slowly due to water retention.

i dont care how much exercise and dieting you do, if you dont drink enough water, you wont lose much. this guy doesn’t know what hes taking about. hes talkin about hydrating your body with teas,coffees in which they dehydrate you. water does burn fat. there was a time when i drunk a gallon of water a day and lost 5-7 pounds per week(minimal exercise, and ate what i wanted. water replenishes the liver in which metabolizes fat. drink throughout the day. IT WORKS

This extra 100 kcal every day is 36500 kcal in a year which is equivalent of over 5 kg or 11 lbs of fat. No to mention that if you dring so much water you will eat much less. So by drinking water you can loose weight.

Actually I did some mathematics on this and I can say 100% sure that Steve is wrong, and here is why. Steve likes to state that you gain weight not by piging out once in a while but by eating 50-100 extra kcal every day. Now we know that 1 kcal is equivalent of energy required to raise temeprature of one litre of water by 1C so if we drink 5L of water that has temperature of let’s say 17 C we have to expend 100 kcal to warm it up to our core temeperature of 36,7 C.

Well drinking for weight loss entails drinking with your meals, so you dont have to constantly drink. But I guess the protein approach is a little more practical. I use the water method because I don’t do the food shopping, my parents do and they’re stubborn. XD

True Shark, but then you have to drink a lot almost constantly, because the point is that it leaves your body (or at least your stomach) really fast, so it only fills you up for a limited time.

Ofcourse there’s nothing wrong with drinking a lot of water though, but there’s other ways of preventing hunger as well (eating proteine rich meals every 3-4 hours)

water does help though, since I’ve started drinking more I haven’t been able to eat as much if I wanted. Drinking alone won’t fill you but it takes up space in your stomach so when you do actually eat something, you’re filled faster

In steve’s defense: He said: “It’s how much you eat and what you do” and he’s right. If drinking more water makes you eat less, it’s not the water ITSELF that makes you loose weight, it’s eating less, which he did say in his video :) Besides, drinking a lot of water =just pissing a lot. It doesn’t fill you up that much, unless you mix it with hard-digestive food (which PLAIN water is not).

Very true. (Steve also has a vid about this). I’ve always eaten really slowly and not too much, because I’m raised that way. Unfortunately, some parents take their kids to McDonalds x times a week etc. This is how you teach kids bad eating habits. If you’re raised with decent food and not too much, chances are really low you’ll overeat in later years.
